Opening Doors to Underwater Exploration
At DiveInclusive, we open the door to underwater exploration for children from underrepresented communities. Our fully funded courses — delivered by expert partners like SSI — make scuba diving accessible, safe, and exciting. Whether it’s a one-time session or a full certification, every experience builds confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong connection to the ocean.
Our courses are fully sponsored and free of charge for all eligible participants. To help manage bookings and reduce last-minute cancellations, we apply a small admin fee when you register. This fee is not for profit — it simply helps us cover essential admin costs and confirm genuine interest in attending.
SSI Try Scuba Diving
- The SSI Try Scuba program provides students with an introductory scuba experience with an SSI Professional in a pool/confined water environment.
Key information:
- Minimum age for participation: 8 years
- A parent or guardian must be at the pool to accompany children under the age of 16.
- All participants must download and complete the SSI Medical Disclaimer Form and upload it during the registration process, prior to participation. Any pre-existing medical conditions highlighted on this form will require medical clearance before we can allow you to take part.
- Session Duration: 60mins
- Kids must be comfortable in water.
- All equipment hire included

SSI Explorers
- The SSI Explorers program allows children to go underwater and sample the different ways they can explore the aquatic world around them. They will gain a solid foundation in ocean conservation and have the opportunity to experience four main aquatic adventures: snorkeling, scuba diving, freediving, and swimming like a real mermaid.
Key information:
- Age Requirement: 8 years or older for scuba diving
- DiveInclusive prerequisite for this course is SSI Try Scuba Diving
- You must be able to swim 12 metres without any swim or buoyancy aids
- A parent or guardian must be at the pool to accompany children under the age of 16 years old, they do not need to participate, but will be required to stay during the experience.

SSI Explorer Specialties

As a follow on of the SSI Explorers course, SSI Explorers can go on even more underwater adventures to earn different Specialty Explorer ratings. They can improve their explorer skills with exciting specialties and earn Explorer recognition cards for their achievements, which they can be proud of.
Complete 2 Explorer Specialties to earn your SSI Specialty Explorer rating.
Complete 4 Explorer Specialties to earn your SSI Advanced Explorer rating.
Complete Rescue Explorer plus 4 additional Explorer Specialties to become an SSI Master Explorer!

SSI Open Water Diver
- The SSI Open Water Diver program provides students with the knowledge and training necessary to dive autonomously with an equally- or more-qualified buddy, in environments equivalent with their training and to depths shallower than 18 meters.
Key information:
- Age Requirement: 10 years or older
- Course duration: Typically 4-5 sessions (can vary depending on progress)

You must be medically fit for diving and be able to complete a 200-metre swim and tread water for 10 minutes
- Qualification Max depth: 18meters (60 feet)
- Certification: Globally recognized, valid for a lifetime, with opportunities for continuing education
- DiveInclusive course prerequisite: SSI Try Scuba Diving OR Any of the SSI Explorer courses
- Gear: Scuba equipment provided during the course
